Oozes are viscous aberrations, generally thought to be congealed and somewhat sentient masses of Essence. While this is unconfirmed, nobody really knows what causes an Ooze to come to be. Other theories include Aspected residue from the presence of @Elementals collecting and obtaining cognition, Planar 'seepage' from the Aspected Planes coalescing on the Material Plane possessed of some unknown will, and alchemical experimentation gone awry causing the first Oozes, which then propagated and spread across the land. Whatever the case, Oozes are incredibly slow moving, but none-the-less dangerous, even to the seasoned adventurer. Able to 'grasp' weapons, or even whole people and absorb them and spit them back out, sometimes with enough velocity to be lethal!

There are currently numerous types of Oozes known to exist, from the basic Ooze, to the Aspected Oozes (such as the Flame Ooze, Frost Ooze, Shock Ooze, Mud Ooze, Dark Ooze, Light Ooze, and Arcane Ooze), and even Oozes that are harder to categorize, such as the Necrotic Ooze and the vile Toxic Ooze.
