About the Shedd
A Shedd is a bipedal reptilian-like creature, often standing roughly 3 or so feet tall, though they do often hunch over. Their skin is a translucent and waxy white, and although sppearing scaley, is quite smooth to the touch. Although they possess claws, these are for scavenging and last resort self defense, as the Shedd is an incredibly paranoid creature. Often traveling solitarily, the largest group that has been observed of the creature is 3. They appear to be somewhat "jittery", and as if the yare nervously rubbing their hands together, always keeping their head on a swivel and looking around for signs of danger and keeping an option to flee at the first sign of it. When cornered however, Shedd are absolutely destructive, seeking to claw it's way through whatever is preventing it's escape as quickly and aggressively as it can.
Shedd are primarily known for their skin, which as you might have guessed, it can shed quite easily. In fact, the primary form of defense and escape for a Shedd is to quickly slough it's topmost layer of skin, almost like slipping off a loose layer of clothing, and making a break for it. Their skin regenerates quite rapidly, and this property is useful to many crafters, who make use of this material in all manner of crafts.
