Volbbits are a hybrid creature, possessing traits of a rabbit and a mole, and are roughly the size of a kangaroo. Volbbit can have either a normal mole nose, or a star-nose, as found on moles native to swampier regions. With their powerful limbs and impressive claws, they are able to dig and burrow and incredible speeds, sometimes said to be 'swimming through earth'. This explosive digging power is reflected in their two primary forms of defending themselves- either by burrowing under and erupting below their victim, launching them airborne enough that landing can often lead to injury if not a broken limb; and by kicking their victims outright with one or both of their powerful hind legs, sending the recipient away at great speeds quite a distance. Of course, they still have their large front claws and can inflict decent damage with them as well.

Volbbits are omnivorous, generally eating leafy greens, root vegetables when they can find them, and bugs, berries, and even small birds and rodents from time to time. They have incredible senses of hearing, smell, and when underground, touch, having something akin to a tremorsense.
